Meng Her
Animator and Artist
Kuv Yog (I am) Meng Her
I was born in Fresno, California to a humble immigrant family. From a young age, I found inspiration in Saturday morning cartoons and comic books. My passion for illustration and animation began in second grade, where I first discovered my love for creating art. Throughout my childhood, I spent countless hours daydreaming, drawing, and immersing myself in the world of art.
From 1995 to 2007, I lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I learned the invaluable lesson that with determination, I could achieve anything I set my mind to. During high school, I continuously pushed myself to refine my skills, with my art teacher playing a significant role in expanding my appreciation for the fine arts. After high school, I pursued an Associate of Fine Arts degree at Central Piedmont Community College, a school that continues to inspire me with its creative and talented community.
My wife was a key motivator in helping me follow my true passion. While I had always dreamed of being an artist, my real love was animation—something I had once thought was out of reach. I had initially expected to graduate high school and take on a conventional job, like many around me. But after earning my college degree, I found myself asking, "What’s next?"
Determined to continue my journey, my wife and I made the decision to return to California so I could pursue a Bachelor of Science degree. After a long and challenging journey, I am proud to say that I am no longer just dreaming—I am now a professional artist and animator. It is a privilege to be able to pursue my passion as a career. Art is an integral part of who I am, and it will always remain a central focus in my life. Life’s path is full of surprises, and I’m grateful for the unexpected turns that led me to where I am today.
The journey of an animator and artist is often challenging, with the industry proving to be both volatile and demanding. However, my story is far from complete. I remain focused on the path ahead, driven by my passion for animation and art. As I advance in my career, I am committed to forging new opportunities and overcoming obstacles that may have once seemed out of reach. I am also committed to supporting those who follow in my footsteps, offering guidance and mentorship to help them navigate their own journeys more easily.
